The hollyhocks are looking magnificent down @summerhouse65 this year and I couldn't resist a quick pic of them standing straight and tall along by the front of the house. The deep reds and purples are so rich and vibrant and more importantly they are attracting the bees.
I decided to have a bit of play around with stencilling and adding acrylic to an apron to see what happened and I was quite pleased with the results. It think for the next one I will make a hollyhock stencil and use some of the gorgeous reds and purples that are so prevalent this year.
The artists apron is available at the Etsy shop . The apron is cotton, has an adjustable neck tie, deep pocket and is washable - it will look as if you have just stepped from the studio (although my apron is certainly not as colourful as this one!)
