Hi, I'm Lynn - the maker behind SummerHouse 65.
My studio is a pretty little summerhouse in the middle of my garden surrounded by flowers, plants and wildlife.
I hope you enjoy my original artwork which is all made with a sense of fun to make you smile.
What I make...
I work in mixed media, found objects and textiles and usually incorporate free machine embroidery somewhere along the line. I am fascinated with layers and textures and the way different mediums can be combined, often with surprising results. I hand print all of my collage papers to make unique patterns and textures.
I love free machine embroidery and collage and as I never quite know how my work will turn out I allow it to develop organically. Most of my pieces are slightly wonky and quirky and I like nothing better than to find or reuse something and turn it into something else.
I find myself inspired by so many things including the natural world and historical artefacts. I have a particular fondness for beach huts and summerhouses!

Projects & Exhibitions
I'm getting ready for Oxfordshire Art Weeks 2024 and looking forward to exhibiting with a great bunch of people. Artists at St Mary's exhibit at an ancient grade1 listed church. You can visit us at venue 151.
I'm also running a workshop called 'Doodle Stitch - mindfulness with a needle' during the festival.
